Common mistakes to avoid
- Fitting the new tire over a dirty idler wheel, clean the plastic hub thoroughly or the tire will slip on its own wheel.
- Stretching the tire more than needed to get it over the hub, roll it on progressively like a car tire.
- Not cleaning the surfaces the idler drives against (reel tables, flywheel rim).
PRO TIP
A correctly fitted idler tire sits perfectly round with no bulges. Spin the wheel by hand and watch the edge, any wobble means it isn't seated evenly.
