The SOHAAF is a replacement CD laser pickup unit (optical pickup / optical block) used in compatible CD players and CD mechanisms that require the SOHAAF laser assembly. It is typically replaced when the original pickup becomes weak or unstable, causing issues such as “No Disc”, skipping, or intermittent CD reading.
This optical pickup is supplied as a complete replacement unit for CD player repair and maintenance. Careful handling and correct installation are recommended to ensure reliable tracking and stable playback performance.
Important note (ESD protection jumper):
Some SOHAAF laser units are shipped with a small soldered anti-static protection bridge (ESD jumper) to protect the laser diode during transport. This solder point must be removed with a soldering iron before the laser can operate correctly.
